Tucked beneath the steep face of the North Downs on the Pilgrims Way is The Black Horse, a homely and welcoming Inn adorned with hops and beams with an open log fireplace to welcome you in winter.
The actual age of the Inn
is not known, but in the 18th century it may well have been a forge with adjoining
barns and stables owned by the Fuller family. Between 1744 and 1751 the buildings
were converted to an inn and given the present name.
Dogs are welcome on a lead and the Inn is open all day, all week, all year!
The Inn has a large car park.
There is a network of footpaths and bridle paths in the area used for cyclists,
walkers and horse riders with magnificent views.
No juke boxes, fruit machines or karaoke nights.
A separate annex houses 16 beautiful ensuite bed and breakfast rooms. Click here for details.
